Welcome to the New
Winton Locomotive Company
Winton Brown entered the live steam hobby in the middle of the 20th Century when he designed his first live steam locomotive. He was a Mechanical Engineer, so he designed his locomotive for maximum strength, maximum weight on the drivers and easy, modular construction. He cast most of the parts in either iron or bronze, and used high-strength commercial fasteners wherever they would be hidden from view.
We purchased Winton Brown's live steam locomotive business more than 25 years ago, and have partnered with Mammoth Locomotive Works for more than 10 years to bring Winton Locomotives to the hobby. Our arrangement with Mammoth has come to an end, and we now offer 1-½ inch scale Winton locomotives ourselves. Mammoth continues to supply boilers for Winton Locomotives as theirs are the best in the hobby.
We offer three 1-½ inch scale Winton locomotives, all for 7-¼ or 7-½ inch gage track.
We are hard at work building our new web site, so please check back often to see the progress that we have made.
